Section Chief Sam on NCOC
The 2021 National Council of Chiefs was an exciting event hosted at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico. The event was kicked off on Sunday evening on August 1st, 2021 where our National Chief, Derek Porter, challenged us to keep an open mind about improving our Lodges and Sections. There was high quality training throughout the entire event, hosted by trainers from around the nation. Training ranged from improving Conclave shows to how to create an effective social media campaign. Lodge and Section Chiefs also had the privilege to give the Magellan task force feedback on Project Magellan. Each of the trainings built upon how to effectively improve the quality of the program within each Chief’s respective Lodge and Section. The event went further than just training, it gave Arrowmen from across the nation the opportunity to bond. The bonds of brotherhood only grew as the event progressed as more and more people began to share ideas on enabling Lodges and Sections to be successful. The event concluded on Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 where participants learned that Tomorrow Begins Today as the Order of the Arrow continues to move in a new direction.
