A Conclave Workday with Nayawin RaR
On Saturday, February 26th, the 2022 Service Lodge, Nayawin RaR #296, held their first Conclave workday at Camp Tuscarora in Four Oaks, NC. In order to prepare the venue for one thousand Arrowmen come late April, every camp host year after year takes time to make needed renovations, landscape, identify points of heavy traffic, and simulate the coordination of logistics such as the thousands of pounds of food that will be shipped in for Conclave. According to 2022 Conclave Chair Isaac Drown, a lot was accomplished thanks to the Arrowmen who came out and showed support.
“Some areas like the trading post and dining hall needed improvements to handle the capacity of the event. We cleaned out a storage building for the trading post (and made it more secure and accessible by building steps and outfitting it with locks) as well as replaced septic lines in the dining hall. Other projects were minor but valuable such as cleaning out program areas that will be used during Conclave. There were also team lead meetings and admin planning sessions throughout the day, and we met with the section officers and advisers that came out.”
Looks like Tuscarora is well on its way to becoming a thriving hotspot for a union of Scouts and Scouters from all over North Carolina to exchange brotherhood, fellowship, and service.
