Section Officers


Vice Chief of Program — Andrew Otelsberg

Andrew is an Eagle Scout from Wilmington, North Carolina, and a Vigil Honor member of Klahican Lodge 331. He is a sophomore this year at North Carolina State University when he is dual majoring in electrical and computer engineering. Andrew is also a very passionate band student and plays alto saxophone for the NC State marching band and pep band. In his free time, Andrew enjoys reading, artistic design, skiing, hanging out with friends, and patch trading.

Program Adviser — Kimberly Benfield

Kimberly is originally from Townsville, North Carolina but currently lives in Apex, North Carolina. She attended Meredith College. In her free time, she enjoys walking, running, or biking on the Tobacco Trial, spending time in the mountains, and working with the Camp Durant staff.


Vice Chief of Training — Calvin Meyers

Calvin is from Greensboro, North Carolina and is currently attending UNC Asheville with an interest in Environmental Studies. He earned his Eagle Scout in 2019 and is still an active member of Troop 118. He works at Cherokee Scout Reservation in the Summer. He is a Vigil member of Tsoiotsi Tsogalii Lodge 70, where he is serving as the Vice Chief of Administration. In his free time, Calvin enjoys playing golf and backpacking. He is very excited to plan a great OAX for the 2022 Conclave.

Co-Training Adviser — Chris Nichols

Chris currently lives in Raleigh, NC and graduated with a degree in political science from North Carolina State University. Chris also has a law degree from Campbell University School of Law. This is his second year as an adviser for the section and is looking forward to what exciting service opportunities we can offer.

Secretary — Landon Smith

Landon is from Pilot Mountain, North Carolina and is a member of Wahissa Lodge, where he has served as a vice chief and Vigil Chief. He is currently a freshman at North Carolina State University, where he is studying Economics. Landon also enjoys fitness, exploring the outdoors, and video production.

Secretary Adviser — Nicholas Anderson

Nick is from Wake Forest, North Carolina but is currently living in Boone, North Carolina where he is studying Computer Information Systems at Appalachian State University. He is a vigil honor member of Occoneechee lodge. Nick has served as a Lodge Chief, Section Secretary, and an OA National Communications Committee member. Nick enjoys web design, traveling, and living financially stable.
