Section Chief — Samuel Crowder

Samuel is a vigil honor member, and Eagle Scout from Troop 257, and Klahican Lodge 331. He was inducted into the Order of the Arrow in 2018. Samuel has served in many roles in the OA including as a Vice Chief of Administration, Section Secretary, and Eastern Region Communications Coordinator. Outside of scouting, Samuel enjoys running, working out, and vibing with the homies. He was born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina, but currently resides in Chapel Hill, NC. He attends the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he studies Economics and Political Science.

Section Adviser — Tommy Wallace

Tommy is originally from Wilmington, North Carolina but currently lives in Leland, North Carolina. He is a vigil honor member of Klahican Lodge, where he currently serves as lodge adviser. He attended Cape Fear Community College where he earned a degree in Business Administration. In his free time, he enjoys camping, watersports, travel, golf and just relaxing.

Associate Section Adviser — Sam Pitts

Sam is a member of Klahican Lodge. He currently resides in Raleigh, NC with his wife Jenni. Professionally, Sam is a project manager with a smart grid technology company in Morrisville, NC. Sam has been a member of SR-7B’s advising team since 2012 and also served as a youth section officer. He is a member of the Cape Fear Council’s executive board and currently serves as the Vice President of Marketing. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, traveling, playing music and gardening.

Associate Section Adviser — Kimberly Benfield

Kimberly is a Vigil Honor member of Occoneechee Lodge 104 and currently serves on the council finance committee. She lives in Apex with her husband Mark and dog Oliver. She is the proud mother of two Eagle Scouts. Kimberly enjoys long walks with her dog, football, traveling to new places, and cooking.

Section Staff Adviser — Henry Goodson

Henry lives in Southern Pines, NC and is married to Jan Goodson, who together has two daughters, ages 10 and 12.  He graduated from Louisburg College and East Carolina University with a degree in Parks, Recreation, and Conservation. Henry is an Eagle Scout out of Troop 30 in Greenville, NC.  He is currently the Camping Director for the Occoneechee Council and has been a professional scout since 1987. Additionally, he has served as Lodge staff adviser for Croatan Lodge in the East Carolina Council and as staff adviser for the Tsali Lodge of the Daniel Boone Council.
