Welcome COC Members!

This page is dedicated to helping Council of Chief members navigate their way through the logistics of attending Conclave. First, you will find all rubrics for the Cardinal Communications Award. Submissions for the Award are done through a Google Form submission, which is also found below. More information, such as Conclave schedules, promotional materials, and a social media toolkit will be posted.

 

Inductions and Ceremonial Experiences Chairman — Jake McCall

Jake is an Eagle Scout from Pittsboro, North Carolina. He is a student at UNC Charlotte pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering. He joined the Order of the Arrow in 2017 and is currently a Vigil Honor member of Occoneechee Lodge 104 , where he served as Chapter Chief, AIA Chair, Troop OA Rep Chair, and a ceremonialist for many years. He served on camp staff at Camp Durant in 2022 and assisted with Friday night ceremonies during camp in 2023.

 

Inductions and Ceremonial Experiences — Ryan Showman 

Ryan lives in Boone and is a Vigil Honor member of Wahissa Lodge. He works as a Learning Architect, and he enjoys hiking and chasing his toddler around. Ryan is excited to develop training and resources for lodges to have successful inductions and ceremonies programs.

American Indian Affairs Chairman  — Rachel Walker

Rachel is a Life Scout from Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, and is a part-time student at Surry Community College. Rachel was elected into the Order of the Arrow in 2022, and is now a Brotherhood member of Wahissa Lodge 118 where she has served as a Chapter Vice Chief, Elangomat Chair, and was elected as Chapter Chief for 2024. She also has a strong presence in American Indian Affairs, serving the Wahissa 118 powwow exhibition, singing, and dance teams, earning second place for the Individual Fancy Shawl Competition at the National Order of the Arrow Conference in 2022.

 

Indian Affairs Adviser — Travis Gentry

Travis is an Eagle Scout from Elkin, NC. He joined the Order in 1983 and has served as an adviser with Wahissa Lodge and or our Section since 1991. With over 30 years of experience as an adult scouter, Travis enjoys working with building chapter and lodge leadership and the AIA Program. He serves as the Vice President of Program for Old Hickory Council at beautiful Camp Raven Knob, where he has served on staff for over 20 years. He is the adviser to our E8 AIA chair and looks forward to the upcoming Cardinal Conclave events.

Service Chairman — John Ross Peedin

John Ross Peedin of Smithfield, NC currently serves as the Service Chairman for Section E8. He is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor member of Nayawin RaR Lodge where he has been active since 2017.  There he has served as Chapter Chief, Vice Chief of Membership, and the 2021-2023 Lodge Chief. He has also served on the Camp Tuscarora staff for six consecutive years. John is currently a student at Johnston Community College and plans to transfer to NC State University to pursue a degree in wildlife conservation biology.

2024 Conclave Chairman — Jaron Sears

Jaron Sears of Yadkinville, North Carolina is currently serving Section E8 as the Conclave Chairman. Jaron began his Order of the Arrow career in 2016 in Wahissa Lodge. Since then Jaron has served in many positions within the Lodge and Section. He is a recipient of the Vigil Honor and Founder’s Award. Jaron enjoys spending time at Raven Knob and is looking forward to leading the Section Conclave there.

Recognitions Adviser — Tommy Murray

Tommy Murray is an active member of Tsoiotsi Tsogali Lodge 70 based out of Greensboro, North Carolina. Tommy has served as Section E8’s Recognitions and Awards Committee Advisor for the past few years. He enjoys serving in this position and looks forward to seeing the lodges compete for the section awards at Conclave 2023.

Shows Chairman – Bradley Krpejs  

Bradley is an Eagle Scout from Clemmons, North Carolina. He is currently a student at Western Carolina University studying broadcasting. In the Order of the Arrow, Bradley is a vigil honor member of Wahissa Lodge #118, where he served as the 2022 Lodge Chief, among other roles. This is his third year serving as the Section E8 Shows Chair, and he hopes to make this year’s shows better than ever!

Co-Shows Adviser — Cameron Bowe

Cameron is originally from Chapel Hill but now lives in Raleigh. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Computer Science. He currently works for ChannelAdvisor as Director of Engineering. Cameron is looking forward to simplifying and streamlining the technology we use to make Conclave a success.

Co-Shows Adviser — Nick Ochsner

Nick currently lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. He’s an investigative reporter for WBTV of Charlotte. Nick is a past Section Chief of our section. He looks forward to helping share the story of lodges and Arrowmen in our Section.
