SR-7B COVID-19 Statement

by Mar 10, 2021Apensuwi

With the goal of ensuring a fun and safe event, the Section and service lodge have put in place the following measures to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission at the 2021 Cardinal Conclave. First, we are committed to meeting or exceeding all state and local guidelines. With that in mind, delegates will be required to wear a mask or face covering throughout the weekend and maintain social distance whenever possible. Delegates should wash their hands frequently with warm soap and water and use hand sanitizer when hand washing is not available.

The Section, and service lodge are also committed to regular periodic cleaning of bathrooms and other high-touch areas. There will also be hand wash stations as well as masks and hand sanitizer available throughout the camp for both delegates and staff. However, all delegates and staff should bring enough face coverings and hand sanitizer for their personal use during the event.

Delegates and staff are required to screen themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 for 10 days prior to arriving at camp. The completed pre-screening form will be required upon arrival at camp. Delegates and staff who do not have the form completed will not be able to attend Conclave. Everyone will be screened for symptoms once more upon their arrival at camp. Throughout the event, all delegates and staff will undergo daily screening for symptoms and anyone showing symptoms will be required to quarantine until they are able to safely return home.

The cohort model will also be used to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 by limiting interactions between delegates to a smaller group. Delegates will remain in their separate cohorts throughout the weekend, camping together, eating together, and participating in program together. Delegates have been assigned to cohorts based on program interest rather than lodge.

Now that these guidelines have been put in place, our ability to hold a fun and safe event relies on everyone’s commitment to following these guidelines. As Scouts and Arrowmen we are relying on you to complete your daily symptom screening prior to the event and responsibly follow the guidelines we put in place during the event. Both your health and safety and the health and safety of others in attendance rests on your completion of the pre-screening form and following of guidelines during the event. Should you have any questions please feel free to reach out to chief@oae8.org. We look forward to seeing you soon!
